We’re pretty sure what follows would have upset Embury for several reasons. We took this recipe from a 1936 French print and aside from it being a delicious drink, we thought we needed at least one drink that had grenadine… And let’s face it… Any excuse for a whiskey cocktail.
30ML JENSEN’S BERMONDSEY GIN
30ML RYE WHISKEY
30ML LEMON JUICE
SERVED STRAIGHT UP
Probably worth noting that Embury did include this drink in his 1953 print, but not to the above recipe. His was a whisky drink , as are most other’s that we have found. But… we like gin. For Felton’s solution to the Pink Gin (Torpedo Juice) swap in Calvados for the rye and tweak the measures slightly in favour of the gin.
